Aidan Funnies #4

Oh my gosh, these are just pure gold...

Aidan, age 3-4

While praying, he says, "Glad that Dad puts his belt on while driving and glad he's wearing a belt so his pants don't fall off."

Knocking on our bedroom door while Jayze is in there and yells, "Little pig, little pig, let me in!"

Laughing, "Kimball's cracking me up!"

"I'm rolling my eyes at you, Mom."

Puts his hands on his hips, gives me a stern face, and says, "Mom, your consequence is..."

I went to the library with a friend. She told Aidan, "You're getting so big, Aidan, did you know that?"
Aidan nods and says, "I'm going to be tall like my Daddy."
She said, "Well, you do share some of his genes, so it makes sense."
Aidan stares at her for a few seconds, then grabs part of his pants with one hand and says, "These are MY pants."

Jayze, ready to head out the door for work, said, "Okay, I'm going to hit the road."
Aidan said, "Nooooooooo! Don't hit the road, just drive on it."

I had to go to the bathroom SO bad, but wanted to wait until after the blessing on the food for their lunch. Aidan was saying the prayer and said, "...and please bless that Mom can stop dancing..."

"I don't like avocadoes. They make me nervous," then he laughs nervously.

"Lincoln's cracking me up!"

While I was holding Lincoln, Aidan comes up to me and asks, "Can I smell him? Oooooo, he smells cute! He smells perfect."

He randomly said to me one day, "You're so pretty."

"One on top and one on the down and it had legs."
Me: "It had legs?"
"Yeah, it had legs sticking out." (talking about the number 3)..."Look, it's an E!"

"Oh, look! It's doing this!" Then he wiggled his fingers (the timer on the oven was counting down from ten to one).

"Mom, my band-aids tickle," he giggled. "Tickle band-aids are my favorite!"

"Mom, when Lincoln wakes up, I'm going to show him all of my airplanes." (paper airplanes)

I asked him, "Are you hungry?"
He said, "No....actually, I'm starving a lot."

When I was using a spoon for singing in the kitchen, Aidan laughed and said, "Hey, it's kind of like a microphone!"

He bonked his upper lip while playing right before bedtime and was really sad about it. So when he prayed, I told him to ask Heavenly Father to help it feel better. When I went in later, he said, "Actually, my mustache feels better."
Trying not to crack up, I said, "Heavenly Father answered your prayer!"
He smiled and nodded, "He helped me."
I said, "You know that you can pray to him any time, right?"
He said, "Actually, haha, it [mustache] tickles now!"

Talking about the tree of life...
"We need to eat the fruit...Are they oranges? Lehi's right there, we can ask him [what kind of fruit it is]."
I told him, "Well, we know what it is! It's God's love!"
He kind of smiled and laughed and said, "It's God's love fruit?!"

We got chocolate milk from McDonald's and Aidan said, "Cows make chocolate milk?"
I said, "No."
"But there's a cow on there [on his chocolate milk bottle]."
I said, "Well, they make milk, but not chocolate milk..."

Aidan Funnies #3

Until I make the time to write Lincoln's birth story (I'm so excited to write it! I don't want to forget any of the details), here are a few things Aidan has said that I don't want to forget.

"Selfie!"

Me, showing him that I don't have any shoes or socks on my feet, "I have bare feet!"
Aidan: "Bear feet?" Then runs into his room, takes off his socks, and runs back. He points to his feet and says, "Bear feet!" and then roars like a bear.

We were driving home and Jayze sped up, trying to make a yellow light. He got through just as the light turned red. Aidan called out, "Good racing, Daddy!"

Aidan, eating something he doesn't want to: "My tongue says no. My tummy says no."

Aidan: "You're breaking my heart!" Then kisses himself better.

Talking to Kimball, "Come here, Kimball!"

"Mom! Take a picture!"

I bought him some kid scissors and was showing him how to use them. He started cutting the construction paper and said, "I'm cutting the paper's hair! Haha, just kidding. Paper doesn't have hair!"

Aidan: "Say please, Kimball. Not like that! Like this, 'Pleeeeease!'"

Aidan: "Going to bed is not my favorite."

He loves running. LOVES it. He'll run back and forth from our living room to his bedroom all the time and say, "I'm super fast! Like Flash and Superman!"

Jayze told me what Aidan had prayed for one night..."Please bless that I can be Captain American when I turn 15."

Aidan: "I need to go potty."
Me: "Okay, go potty! Quick, quick, quick!"
Aidan: "Okay, I'm quicking!"

"I'm not tired. I don't want to go down for my nap." (crashes on the living room floor)

While opening the blinds, I said, "Look, the sun's awake!"
Aidan: "Good morning, sun! He's going to eat oatmeal like me!"

After driving by a school bus, Aidan said, "When I turn five I get to go to school."
Me: "Yep!"
Aidan: "And you will miss me so much..."
Me: "Yes, but I'll be glad that you're growing up and learning."
Aidan: "...And you will be very, very sad...but I will tell you about it."

Aidan: "I burped!"
Me: "Say, excuse me!"
Aidan: "Eskonkie!"
Me: "Eskonkie?"
Aidan: "Yeah, that's excuse me in Spanish."

Pointing my phone's camera at Lincoln, Aidan said in a high-pitched, sweet voice, "He's so cute!"

Aidan: "Lincoln's awake!"
Lincoln moves his head a little and opens his mouth.
Aidan: "He's talking to me!"
Me: "Oh yeah? What's he saying?"
Aidan: "I love you!"

I love how we can have a conversation now, and he understands so much! He's one cute kid, and I love him.

Aidan Funnies #2

Aidan says the funniest things lately. He is turning more into a talking, little boy vs. a babbling toddler every day. I love it. Here are a few things I actually jotted down. :)

He matched the stickers to the letters. He now knows A is for Aidan, K is for Kimball, M is for Mommy, and D is for Daddy.

I made deviled eggs while Kimball and Aidan were taking a nap. When Aidan woke up he said, "Aidan hungry." He asked me for toast or something, and I told him, "We don't have any bread, but I made some deviled eggs. Do you want one?" He looked super confused, so I explained, "They're really yummy. Do you want to try one? They're in the fridge." He wanders over to the fridge, opens it, sees the deviled eggs on the top rack, and exclaims while grabbing one, "Ohhhhh, YUM-mmy!"

One morning I made paper airplanes. While I folded, Aidan played. He made one fly in the air by holding it in his hand. I asked him where the airplane was flying to, and he said, "Taco Bell!"

Aidan: "Jesus died."
Me: "Yes, Jesus died, but he's alive again!"
Aidan: "Jesus resurrected!"
Me: "Yep, He is resurrected."
Aidan: "Jesus happy now!"

"Look Mommy, race tracks!" pointing to a road we're driving by. "Cars racing!"

For a little while he was in the habit of calling Jayze "Jayze" instead of Daddy.

Every time we pass Taco Bell, he says, "Taco Bell!" He does the same thing for Costco and Walmart.

During a rough day, Aidan walked over to where I was sitting down on the couch, kissed my knee, and said, "Love you sooo much, Mommy!"

Jayze: "How do you say cookie in Spanish?"
Aidan: "Spanish!"

While reading scriptures, Jayze starts reading in Spanish. Aidan says, "No! EN-glish, Daddy!"

I dropped Kimball off at a friend's house, but took Aidan with me. When I got back into the van without Kimball, Aidan started whimpering and with a trembling voice said, "Kimball? Kimball? Kimball?" When we were on our way back, I told him we were going to pick up Kimball. He was so excited. When I got out of the car and came back with Kimball, Aidan said, "Kimball! Love him SO much!"

Aidan:"Aidan wear Lightning McQueen shoes."
Me: "How about your sandals because they're easier to put on?"
Aidan: "No, Lightning McQueen shoes."
Me: "Okay."
Aidan suddenly laughs and says: "Ohhh, sorrry." Then, with a decisive nod of his head, he changed his mind and said, "Sandals."

Right before cleaning up his toys during our bedtime routine, Jayze and I said, "K, time to clean up your toys!"
Aidan: "No, brush teeth first!"
Can't go out of order... :)

Me: "Aidan, what's your favorite color?"
Aidan: "Green!"
Me: "What's your favorite animal?"
Aidan: "Lions!" (but recently he's changed it to giraffes)
Me: "What's your favorite food?"
Aidan: "Peas!" (Me: ???)

Aidan: "I like driving in the car. Kimball happy!"

He's very independent. He's constantly saying, "Aidan's got it!"

After watching Cars 3, I asked Aidan who his favorite character was. He said, "Jackson Storm!"

Watching Cars 3 with his Lightning McQueen hat, shirt, and shoes.

Aidan: "Aidan wants banana."
Me: "Sorry bud, we're all out of bananas."
Aidan: "Go in the van. Drive. Store. Get more bananas. Come home!"

Me: "What do you want for dinner, bud?"
Aidan: "Mmmmm, pizza!"
Me: "We don't have any pizza."
Aidan: "Daddy comes home, go in van, go get pizza."

Aidan: "You're the best, Mommy!"
Me: "You're the best, Aidan!"

I love this silly, loving, sweet boy of mine. Despite his recent sassiness, he really is the best.

Fast One

I was playing solo tonight with the kids while Jayze went to the adult session of Stake Conference.
While I was finishing up feeding Kimball, I asked Aidan, "Can you please go put that empty bottle in the sink?"
I had needed two bottles because Kimball hadn't finished all of his formula from the last time he ate.
Aidan said, "No, I lay on blanket."
I gave him a stern look and told him, "Please put the bottle in the sink."
He kind of rolled his eyes, grabbed the bottle, and headed towards the sink.
In an effort to make it fun so there wouldn't be any hard feelings, I called out to him as he walked towards it, "Go, go, go! You got this! Yay, Aidan!"
He smiled, walked a little faster, and slowly pushed the bottle overboard.
Once the bottle was in, I said, "Thanks, Aidan! Good job! You are awesome!"
He smiled as he ran back and jumped onto his blanket that was lying on the couch.
By then Kimball had finished his second bottle, so I set him on the floor and put the second empty bottle in the sink.
Then I turned around and said to Aidan, "Alright, time to clean up..."
Aidan ran to the couch, jumped on it, and yelled, "Mom's turn!"
I almost protested, then stopped, shrugged my shoulders, smiled, and said, "Okay," and knelt down and began picking up toys.
As I bent down, Aidan called out, "Go, Mom! Go, Mom! Go, Mom! Yaaaaayyyyyy!"
As I finished up a batch of toys, he said, "Thanks, Mom!"
Then he yelled out again, "Mom's turn!"
This time I told him it was his turn too, and we could clean up the rest together.
He jumped off the couch and excitedly ran back and forth from the living room to his room putting his toys away.

Man, is this kid smart. I better be careful because he just almost pulled a fast one on me.

Yesterday. He was so proud of how he lined up his cars.

Aidan Funnies

Okay, I started writing this post a couple of months ago. So some of these are outdated, but I kept them here because I don't want to forget them!

Wrote these while we were living in the hotel:

Words (my favorites - he obviously says a lot more than what's listed here):

  • Bimball = Kimball
  • Uck = truck and stuck
  • Juice = juice and shoes
  • Eba = Zebra
  • Ippo = Hippo
  • Eeow = Cat
  • Rawr = lion, bear, tiger
  • Byyy Byyyy Byyyy = I want to sit by you
  • Wuv ooo = Love you
  • Ahma = Alma
  • Hyperventilating = monkey
  • Biiiiiiite = I want more food
  • Baby = baby or movie
  • Coookiiiieeeee! = cookie

Aidan, holding a fistful of spinach, asks me: "Biiiittte?" Meaning, do I want his spinach?
Me: "No, I already have spinach. That's yours. Are you going to eat it?"
Aidan looks at me, then looks down, then looks back at me and moves his hand towards the garbage and says, "Traaaash."

While watching Planes and eating dinner, I noticed Aidan dipping his pizza in the smoothie. I thought it was cute and funny and wanted to capture it. I tried to get his attention and kept asking him to look at me and smile when he finally turned to me, put his finger to his mouth, and said, "Shhhh....." I guess I had it coming for how much I tell him to shush because the baby's asleep.

I'm feeding Kimball and Aidan wanted his jacket off. He started to unzip it but didn't unzip it all the way. He got frustrated, so I helped him unzip it all the way. Then he got frustrated that it was unzipped all the way and wanted it zipped again. I offered to help, but then he didn't want it zipped. So he tried taking off his jacket, but his arms got stuck and he got frustrated and desperately said, "Uck! Uuuuuuck!!!" So I helped him take it off, and then he got frustrated that it was off. So I started to put it back on him and he didn't want it. I finally put it on the couch and he was finally satisfied. Whew.

Aidan was smiling and hanging out with Kimball after Kimball woke up. I had unswaddled Kimball and left him in the bassinet while I went to the kitchen to make a bottle for him. When I came back to get Kimball, I saw Aidan trying to give Kimball the piece of apple Aidan had been eating. So cute.

Me to Aidan: "Do you want to eat breakfast?"
A: "No."
Me: "Are you hungry?"
A: "No."
Me, holding up a box of cheerios: "Do you want some cereal?"
A, gets an excited look on his face: "Cereal!" and comes happily running to his high chair.

Me to Aidan: "Do you want to eat lunch?"
A: "No."
Me: "Are you hungry?"
A: "No."
Me: "Come on, let's eat."
A: "No."
Me: "Well, I'm going to put you down for a nap. Do you want to eat before you go down for a nap?"
A, running to his high chair: "Eeeeeeee!!!" (eat) - he'll do anything to stall sleeping lately

Written more recently:

Whenever we pray before bed, Aidan has to make sure all of his trucks are put down in one spot. Sometimes we'll be waiting a couple of minutes before he's all done.

The other day I was trying to juggle a lot of things at once. Kimball was crying, and I needed an extra hand. So I asked Aidan, "Hon, can you give Kimball your giraffe to play with? He's so sad." Aidan picked up his stuffed giraffe, threw it at Kimball, and hurriedly backed away.

Me: "Oh, shoot!"
Aidan: "Ah, shooot!"

Me: "Dangit!"
Aidan: "Dangit!"

Me: "Criminey!"
Aidan: "Imney!"

Me: "Guess what, Aidan? Kimball's awake! I need to go make his bottle real fast, can you go say hi to him?"
While I'm in the kitchen making the bottle, I hear Aidan open my bedroom door where Kimball is, excitedly run in and say, "Hi!"

Me: "We'll eat dinner as soon as Daddy comes home."
Jayze walks in and says, "Hi!"
Aidan jumps off the couch, runs to his chair, and yells, "Eeeeeeaaaatttt!"

Aidan: "Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom."
Me: "Aidan, Aidan, Aidan, Aidan, Aidan."

Pointing to Jayze, Aidan says, "Daddy!"
Pointing to me, A says, "Mom." (he never calls me mommy, just mom haha)
Pointing to himself, "Adinnn."
Pointing to the bedroom where Kimball's sleeping and resting his hand on his cheek, "Kmbllll, sleeping."
Pointing to Kimball, "Kmbllllll."
We're still working on him figuring out where Alma is. :) But the other day he saw a church and said, "Temple. Ahlma. Jesus," so we're getting there.

I love my two-year old. Life with him seems to get better and better as he keeps growing up.
