About

Hi! I'm Sarah, welcome to my blog!

I am married to my best friend, Jayze (like Jace, but with a Z, although I have been called Beyonce a few times haha). We are the parents to the four cutest boys ever: Alma (in heaven), Aidan (5 yrs), Kimball (4 yrs), and Lincoln (2.5 yrs), and we have a baby girl named Ryah (10 months old).

Together we've been married for eight years and each earned bachelor's degrees from Brigham Young University-Idaho. As a married couple, we lived in Rexburg for four years, lived in Southfield, MI for two months, lived in Wichita, KS for three years, lived in Snowflake, AZ for eight months, and now live in Tucson, AZ where my husband is going to law school. Annnnd, we both come from the same small town in AZ.

I started this blog soon after I lost my first child, Alma. It's my safe space to write about grief, tender mercies, love, lessons, healing, and gratitude. It's where I can come back to remind myself to cherish the sweet moments life offers every day, especially the ones we most often take for granted (read here why I named this blog Cherish the Moment).

I hope you stay awhile and share in these special and funny moments and find some hope in your journey as well, whatever it may include.

A few things about me:
  • I love eating all of my desserts with a spoon. It feels more exotic that way.
  • My arms are double-jointed. I didn't figure this out until my sister was teaching me a dance and told me to straighten my arms. I told her, "I am straightening my arms!"
  • I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • Exercising is my therapy. I especially love cardio, HIIT, and yoga from the comfort of my own home. Last year I did my first mud run/obstacle run, and it was so.fun. I'd love to do another one again!
  • Creating is also my therapy. I am a self-taught handlettering artist and have an Etsy shop - PureJoybySarah. Check it out!
  • Writing is ALSO my therapy, hence the blog. :)
  • I LOVE being a mom to all of my boys.
  • My favorite thing to do is be with my family.
  • This space has brought so much healing, and I'm forever grateful for it.

Thanks for being here!
