4 months

Aidan turned four months old a week ago Sunday. I can't believe four months has gone by so fast! Sometimes it feels like he just got here, and other times it feels like he has been part of our lives forever. I am so grateful he is part of our lives. It has been the best taking care of him and watching him learn and grow.

Stats:
Weight: 15.6 lbs. (50%)
Height: 26 in. (82%)
Head Circumference: 17 in. (88%)

I think he's taking after Jayze's family because he is tallll. Sometimes I'll look back at his newborn pictures and wish he was that tiny again. He's growing up too fast! Even though it's hard because I'm taking full-time school, I'm trying to take in every moment.

Personality: He HATES being overstimulated. We were over at my sis-in-law's and Aidan started crying within two minutes of having his two cousins right in his face. I told Jayze it's funny he's that way because he's a second child and you would think he'd be naturally used to stimulation. ;) He's way into making noise though. During Sacrament Meeting he'll sigh really loud. And when I'm washing dishes, he'll just sit in his little bouncer and talk to me. He absolutely loves it when I talk back to him. He'll give me a huge smile and coo and keep talking. We found out he's ticklish too. We can usually get a few giggles out of him before we put him down for bed, which leaves Jayze and me giggling too. Aidan is definitely a people watcher. He loves it when people talk to him, and he'll look back and forth trying to watch people walk around. Sometimes when he's sitting on my lap and I'm reading to him, he'll turn his head and look up and just watch me. It's the cutest thing ever.

Sleeping: He still pretty much sleeps through the night. For awhile he was sleeping from 8 p.m.- 7 or 8 a.m. Now for the past couple of weeks he'll go to sleep between 7 and 8:30 and wake up around 5, eat, then go back to sleep until about 7 or 8:00 a.m. He no longer needs to be swaddled and sleeps in a sleep sack instead. Also, we used to put socks on his hands every night so they would stay warm. But the other night he woke up crying and it turns out he needed his hands free so that he could suck on his fingers for comfort. He won't take a pacifier, but he sure loves his hands!

Eating: Back down to 4 oz. every 3-4 hours during the day and 5 oz. in the morning and at night. The spit-up has gone wayyy down, and I think he's much more content.

Size: Now completely out of 3 month clothing (sad day) and wears anywhere from 3-6 month to 6 month clothes. One good thing from this is that he has a lot more variety in clothes and they are super cute. :) He's still in a size 2 diaper. Yay!

Trying to get a smile out of him after his four month shots.

Tummy Time: He's doing a lot better! I once got him to do tummy time for thirty minutes, but it hasn't happened since. He'll stay on his tummy longer if he's distracted. But he'll do a mini push-up now, and if we catch his eye while he's doing it he'll smile at us and do it again. Still waiting for him to roll over.

Bath Time: Still loves bath time. He'll kick his little feet and splash the water. He also loves it when I sing to him while I'm giving him a bath. I'm going to have to memorize more songs...

Movin': Aidan constantly moves his legs and  feet, especially when I'm standing up and holding him. He loves it when I do bicycle moves or run-run-run with his legs.

He's still keeping his parents going. Jayze and I love him so much. We love imitating him, playing with him, holding his hands, kissing his irresistible chubby cheeks, praying with him, singing to him, and just being with him. Sometimes I never want to put him down. And even though it's a huge blessing when he actually takes an hour or two nap, I miss him while he's asleep and love it when he wakes up smiling and wanting to be held. I love being his mom. Heavenly Father knew just how much I needed Aidan and will always need him.

Happy four months my baby boy. :)
